"Remembering Once Again" By Priscilla
Remembering Once Again
Never shall I forget that night,
The first night in camp,
Which has turned my life into one long night.
Without hurry
They went by fallen,
Dragging their packs
Dragging their lives,
Leaving their homes,
Their childhood,
And they were beaten.
Beat mentally.
And physically.
There were German soldiers
With their steel helmets,
And their representation,
the mission of death.
Priscilla,
ReplyDeleteI like the style you have chosen for this poem. I think it does alot for the power of the poem itself and the theme the poem is centered around. I was most impacted by the last few lines, "There were German soldiers/With their steel helmets,/ And their representation,/ the mission of death."

Hi Priscilla,
ReplyDeleteI like how your poem is simple yet powerful. I like how you settled for the idea of the past as if someone was thinking back on their past. I especially like the line where you said, "And they were beaten. Beat mentally. And physically."
