The Final destination-Jameson

This was the final destination.
Where question and answer would become one.
Why did I live?
Why did I breathe?
Only the darkness of the night
Could ease the smell of burning flesh.
Our terror could no longer be contained.
Fire! I see a fire! I see a fire!
Our nerves had reached a breaking point.
Men to the left, women to the right.
Babies! Thrown into the fire!
Was I still alive? Was I awake?
The anger rose inside me.
Face to face with the angel of death,
Flames that consumed my faith,
This horrible place,

Was the final destination.

  1. I love the title and you have a lot of great lines in your poem, but they seem a little all over the place. Maybe try to reorder them and find new lines that can connect them.

  2. Jameson,

I enjoyed reading your poem but it jumps all over the place and does not really stay on the topic of “The Final Destination”. But if you worked on refining and focusing your poem I think it would turn out great.
