"Burning Victims" by: Sylvie Guinan-Linck

Burning Victims

Weak and massacred,
the tortured victims.
Hold onto life.
Fire! I see a fire!
The worst poison destined to feed the gas chambers and crematoria.
Those flames in the air, I smell the burning of flesh.
I see children torn from their mothers with my own eyes,
and huge mass graves where the dead are piled on top of the living.
I hear thousands of slaves cry out for help.
I wish for a silent death, suffocation. No way to scream.
But the final solution is turning a machine gun.
who could have imagined such things!
Weak and massacred,
the tortured victims.

Hold onto the tragedies of the Jewish past.

  1. Hi Sylvie,
I like how you focused on the death aspect of the holocaust. You showed what it was really like for victims and I liked the way you presented it. One line that I liked was "The worst poison destined to feed the gas chambers and crematoria."

  2. Hi Sylvie,

I like the theme of sorry and despair because it is a good way to describe the holocaust.
